Picture a traveller walking into a hotel lobby. Years ago, she would only ask about the room and the price. Today she may also ask, “Do you save water? Do you serve local food? Will my stay help the people who live here?” It is a small change in questions, but it is changing an entire industry and opening some very kind and very exciting career doors.<\/span><\/p>\n

The numbers back this up. India’s travel and tourism sector supported 46.2 million jobs in 2025, which is more than one in every ten jobs in the country, according to the World Travel & Tourism Council. At the same time, 87% of Indian travellers told Booking.com they were willing to travel sustainably in the next 12 months.
