Every year after the 12th board results, the same question starts going around in Raipur homes. “Ab kahan admission lena hai?” Parents call relatives, students scroll through Instagram pages and YouTube reviews, and everyone has a different opinion.

If you’re searching for the top colleges in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, you’ve probably noticed that the list keeps changing depending on who you ask. Some people only talk about the big government institutes. Others swear by a private university because of the courses and campus life.

So let’s make it simple. Here’s a look at the colleges that matter in Raipur and across the state, what each one is good for, and why a newer name like Anjaneya University is getting so much attention from students right now.

Why Raipur Has Become the Education Hub of Chhattisgarh

Ten years ago, a lot of students from Chhattisgarh packed their bags for Bhopal, Nagpur, Pune, or Delhi after school. That’s slowly changing.

Raipur now has national institutes, state universities, medical colleges, law schools, and several private universities, all within the same city. Naya Raipur and the area around Vidhan Sabha Road have seen new campuses come up, and students can now get a good degree without moving hundreds of kilometres from home.

That’s a big deal for families. Staying closer means lower living costs, easier travel back home, and parents who can actually visit the campus on a Sunday.

The first several on this list are excellent, but they’re also extremely competitive, with limited seats and tough entrance exams. That’s why many students look at private universities in Raipur as a strong second, or even first, option.

Why More Students Are Looking at a Chhattisgarh Private University

Let’s be practical. Not every student will crack JEE, NEET, or CLAT with the rank they need. And not every student wants a traditional course either.

A good Chhattisgarh private university gives students more choice. You’ll find newer courses like AI, cyber security, aviation, fashion design, and business analytics that older institutions may not offer. Admissions are usually more flexible, often based on merit or state entrance exams. And campuses are generally newer, with hostels, transport, and facilities built for today’s students.

The important thing is to pick a private university that’s properly recognised and actually invests in students. That’s where Anjaneya University stands out.

Anjaneya University: A Private University in Raipur Worth a Serious Look

Anjaneya University was set up in 2022 and sits in Knowledge Village, Naradha, near Vidhan Sabha Road in Raipur. It’s run by the SBA Education Society, and in just a few years it has become one of the most talked-about names among colleges in Raipur.

Here’s why students and parents are paying attention.

    It’s Properly Recognised

This is the first thing any parent should check, and it’s the right question to ask. The university is recognised by the UGC and has approvals from AICTE, BCI, PCI, and NCTE. That means degrees are valid for jobs and further studies.

    A Huge Range of Courses

It offers more than 170 programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral levels, spread across faculties like Engineering, Management, Law, Sciences, Pharmacy, and Arts. Whether you want B.Tech, BBA, B.Sc, BA LLB, B.Ed, B.Pharm, or an MBA, it’s likely available here.

It also offers newer, job-focused options. MBA specialisations include Family Business and Entrepreneurship, Real Estate, and Logistics and Supply Chain, and BBA students can choose Aviation and Airport Management.

    A Proper Campus Experience

The campus is spread over 25 acres and the university has more than 200 faculty members. For students coming from other districts, there are separate on-campus hostels for boys and girls with power backup, drinking water, attached bathrooms, and Wi-Fi.

Travel is also easier for day scholars. The university runs 10 buses along with other vehicles to pick up and drop students from different parts of Raipur.

    Flexible Admissions and Scholarships

Not everyone walks in with a top entrance score, and that’s okay. The university accepts entrance exams like CAT, MAT, and CG PET, and also admits on merit. It offers scholarships of up to 25% for meritorious students. Scholarships are also linked to academic merit, social welfare, extracurricular activities, and sports.

    Life Beyond Classrooms

College isn’t only about lectures. Students here get active NCC and NSS units along with cultural festivals, and the campus has an auditorium that seats 1,000, indoor sports facilities, and outdoor sports fields.
