Walk into any well-designed space, and you feel it before you can explain it. The lighting sits right. The furniture does not crowd the room. The colours work together without trying too hard. Nothing is accidental. Someone made hundreds of decisions about height, proportion, material, texture, flow, and function before that space became what it is. That person is an interior designer. And getting to that level of thinking takes real training, not just a creative eye and a Pinterest board.

If you are looking at interior design colleges in Raipur and trying to figure out which one will actually prepare you for this profession, this is written to answer that question straight. No padding, no vague promises. Just what the interior design course details at Anjaneya University actually cover, what the interior design institute in Raipur campus at Anjaneya does in practice, and whether this is the right programme for where you want to go

Why Interior Design Is Growing Faster Than Most People Realise

India’s construction and real estate sector has been expanding for years, and with it, the demand for trained interior designers has gone up consistently. New residential projects need designers. Commercial spaces, offices, hotels, restaurants, retail stores, hospitals, and co-working spaces all need people who understand how to make a space work for the people using it.

The wedding and events industry alone drives significant interior and décor work. Corporate offices increasingly invest in workspace design because companies now understand that the physical environment affects how people think and perform. Sustainable design is becoming a serious requirement rather than a marketing claim, and clients are actively looking for designers who understand eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient layouts.

All of this means there are more real job opportunities for trained interior designers in 2026 than there were five years ago. The students who are getting those opportunities are the ones who came out of their programmes knowing how to use professional software, how to manage a client brief, how to build and present a concept, and how to handle the technical side of space planning alongside the creative side.

That combination is exactly what the programme at Anjaneya University is built around.

Interior Designing Course Details: What the Undergraduate Programme Covers

The undergraduate interior design programme at Anjaneya University is a three-year full-time course. Here is what the interior designing course details actually include across the three years.

The first year covers the foundations. Design principles and visual communication, colour theory and its application in real spaces, history of interior design and architecture, basic space planning, introduction to technical drawing and drafting, and an early introduction to design software. Students are not just listening to lectures about these things. They are drawing, planning, and producing work from the beginning.

The second year moves into more complex territory. Furniture design and selection, architectural elements and how they interact with interior design decisions, lighting design and its role in how a space feels and functions, material science covering flooring, walls, ceilings, and finishes, computer-aided design using industry software, and live project work where students apply what they are learning to real or realistic briefs. This is where the gap between a good interior design programme and a weak one becomes visible. Students who are doing actual project work in year two come out of university with a portfolio that reflects real thinking. Students who spent year two in lectures do not.

The third year focuses on specialisation, advanced project work, entrepreneurship and business skills for running a design practice, sustainable design principles and how to apply them practically, client communication and presentation skills, and portfolio development. Students at Anjaneya University graduate with a proper portfolio of completed projects, not a folder at Anjaneyac exercises.
